LCANZ Webinar: Sustaining Construction through Digitisation from a Lean perspective
Join Lean Construction ANZ for a webinar on ”Sustaining Construction through Digitisation from a Lean perspective”
Abstract:
Construction has been, and continues to be, plagued by inefficiencies and wastes at every step of the way. Whether it be poor design coordination, inaccurate alignment of customer requirements, or the incredibly conventional ways we still continue to execute projects on the ground, construction is reaching a point which is simply not sustainable anymore. With the rising prices and scarcity of labour and talent, our current processes and tools are not capable of sustaining the demands of the near future.
While digitalisation might seem to be the need of the hour and the topic of discussion in construction today, our lack of understanding of technology and incompetent workflows to manage information accurately continue to widen the gap between the expectations from digitalisation and the actual results achieved on projects globally. This is where Lean has, and continues to play a pivotal role in aligning requirements, managing expectations, and providing a framework within which results can be achieved through the accurate appropriation of tools, processes, and technology. In this presentation, we look at some of the key ways Lean tools and processes form the foundations of addressing challenges in construction and the best practices to help address these with the right technology and resources.
