Become a LCANZ-Certified Lean Construction Instructor
As our community continues to grow, we need passionate Instructors to help train and support our members in building their Lean capabilities.
The program is led by the needs of the individual and their organisation. Instructors support participants in tackling their challenges and opportunities through implementing lean principals and methods. The outcomes and learnings from improvement initiatives will be used to verify the achievement of competencies and celebrate the value created.

How it works
Becoming an LCANZ-Certified Instructor
To become a certified instructor, you:
- submit a request to become a certified instructor for a module.
- have your credentials and experience reviewed by LCANZ for the module
- Pay the Module on-boarding fee
- Attend the Module training workshop
- Participate in the Module on-boarding workshop with the Module Lead
- Apply your learnings by carrying out your first limited Training Workshop
Once approved as a certified lean Instructor by LCANZ, your credentials, areas of expertise, and contact information will be listed on the LCANZ website and passed on to those requesting support from LCANZ.
The Instructors Role
Instructors play a primary role in engaging with program participants and building their capability. The process illustrated below highlight our approach to ensuring learning is ‘pulled’ by the customer to meet their requirement. It also highlights the critical role of applying learnings in order to build capability and achieve practioner certification.
Lean Basics Training
By hosting a Lean Basics course, Instructors are given the opportunity to train and engage with potential clients. Participants will be asked to identify improvement opportunities in their current work. This provides Instructors the opportunity to offer their support in carrying out the improvements while continuing their development and LCANZ certification.
Improvement Projects
Instructors are engaged by the participants to support improvement projects. Training is provided only as required. Participants develop their capability through applying the learnings through implementing the improvement projects.
Certification
Improvement Projects will be documented on A3 summary reports. On completion, the Instructor will assess the A3 and determine which of the 23 Lean competencies have been achieved.
The participant will then submit the A3 and apply for certification of the relevant competencies.
